LightPort (February) A light and sound trail created by Lucid Creates transforming Lord Street in to the colours of a rainbow.

Cristal Palace (3rd-4th April) This event is an outdoor performance along Lord Street changing it into a ballroom-style performance space.

Food and Drink festival (Friday May 29th to Sunday May 31st) This event is held at Victoria Park it contains Street food, artisan producers, bars and live entertainment.

Southport Air Show (Saturday August 30th to Sunday August 31st) This events offers two full days of aerial displays over the Southport seafront with various historic and modern aircraft, including the Typhoon Display Team, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, and the Aerosuperbatics Wingwalkers.

Big Top Festival (Saturday May 2nd to Sunday May 3rd) This event takes place at Lord Street and it changes Lord Street into a celebration of modern circus, featuring world-renowned performers, live music, and family-friendly workshops.

Books Alive (October 24th to October 31st) This event is a literature festival that changes Southport’s town center into storybooks with live performances and author-led activities. This event is designed for young readers, kids, and families, with free activities often requiring booking.

Southport Comedy Festival (October 2nd to October 18th) This event takes comedy stars to Southport for 17 days of laughter at Victoria Park.

The Open Golf Championship (July 12th to July 19th) This event will be held at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, Merseyside, England, from July 12-19, 2026, with championship play from July 16-19. It’s a return to the classic English golf coast for the prestigious event, which they last visited in 2017.

British Musical Fireworks Championship (September 26th to September 27th) This event features dazzling displays choreographed to music as part of Southport’s larger “Year of Culture”. Expect incredible pyrotechnics synchronized with music to create an awe dropping experience.

Pride Of Sefton Awards (Friday 24th April 2026) The 2026 Grand Pride of Sefton Awards will take place on Friday, 24th April 2026, at The Grand in Southport to honour local champions, heroes, and community contributors from across Sefton. Organized by Stand Up For Southport and Mikhail Hotel and Leisure Group, the event features 13 categories, including Child of Courage and Community Impact.
